The Family-Friendly League
The Golden Rivers Football League (GRFL) is an Australian Rules football league founded in 1919. It operates under its own board and is administered by AFL Central Murray. The GRFL consists of nine clubs representing the central northern region of Victoria and the western Riverina district of New South Wales. Pixel Ninja Creative proposed an updated brand identity to help modernise the league.
The primary goal of this project was to simplify the current logo's core elements: the sun, the river, the football and the goal posts. The league's initials replace the trademarked Sherrin logo on the football to avoid potential legal disputes and makes the league become the focus of the identity. Other brand applications, including the Interleague uniform and marketing collateral, build on the core elements established in the logo to provide a greater level of consistency.
